Yoga in Temagami

Smoothwater offers unique yoga retreats in Ontario in a beautiful wilderness lodge setting. Certified yoga instructors lead the daily yoga practice, then there are forays in pilates, organic cooking, and watercolour painting. Summer offers canoeing and hiking in the old growth forests, while winter offers x-c skiing and snowshoeing at the wilderness lodge. Yoga classes are small and yoga poses are customized for all levels. The sauna, lodgings and organic cuisine complete these yoga retreats.

Wind on the Water
When you see parallel streaks of foam on the water, it's windy -but how windy? The foam has come from lots of breaking waves stirring up organic matter in the water, creating a sudsing effect. In open water, this kicks in around 30 kilometres/hour or 15-20 knots. So next time you see foam, heads up!
