and kayak tripping in Ontario. Our professional canoe trip
outfitting services include a full complement of top quality
camping gear, including lightweight kevlar canoes, whitewater
ABS canoes or lakewater kayaks, quick set-up compact tents,
sleeping bags, thermarests, stoves with fuel, a kitchen billy,
first aid kit, maps, shuttles and more. It’s everything
you’ll need to ensure
a safe and comfortable trip, A la cart rentals are also available.
As
an extra touch, we like to include field guidebooks with
your complete canoe trip outfitting package to help you better
understand Temagami’s old growth pine forests and wildlife.
Finally, a trip would not be complete without a thorough route
consultation to match your desires with your skill set and
timelines. We love pouring over maps.
Homemade Campfire Cuisine
Smoothwater is known for culinary excellence,
and this extends to our outfitting cuisine as much as our
table at the wilderness lodge. We are the only adventure
travel business in Canada, preparing and dehydrating trip
food in-house. Just like our wilderness lodge cuisine, our
trip food is fresh, local and organic. We also teach
courses in gourmet campfire cooking, and recommend these skills to
anyone serious about guiding.
Food makes or breaks a trip,
and we understand the demands of wilderness travel by canoe,
kayak, winter camping, and also when hiking Temagami’s
backcountry trails.
So, our homemade campfire cuisine addresses
the need for reduced volume and weight, yet delivers the
tastes you crave and the energy you require.
Food is dehydrated
safely, then portioned and packed specifically for your group
in reusable containers, and then in bear-proof barrels. Fresh
meats, vegetables and fruits are added to complete a balanced,
nutritious and exciting menu.
We'll also go out of our way
to accommodate your needs - from packing a diverse vegetarian
menu to dehydrating chicken for your canine companion! We’ve
done it all before.
