Alternatives Magazine
Produced by the University of Waterloo, this periodical is about Canadian environmental ideas and action. It’s positively uplifting.

Cobalt Classic Theatre
Once a vaudeville house in the booming silver mining days of Cobalt, this is our local proscenium stage.  The restored Classic Theatre brings the community a diverse range of comedy, music, dance and drama. 

Landscape as Muse
This is a film series exploring the connection between art and environment. Artists are filmed creating, often in a wilderness location. Nastawgan Trails
From the rugged cliff tops of the Lake Temiskaming shoreline, to the old growth pine forests of Temagami, self-guided hikers can walk, snowshoe and camp through this spectacular network of backcountry hiking trails.

Parks Ontario
There are over 100 provincial parks in Ontario ranging from small campgrounds to remote wilderness areas. Ontario Parks is a branch within the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

Temiskaming Nordic Ski Club
A counterpoint to Smoothwater’s ski trails, this club offers 20 km of groomed and track-set skate and classic skiing trails.

Ontario Recreational Canoe & Kayak Association
ORCKA is the governing body for recreational paddling in Ontario. Find a  list of provincial paddling resources and skills courses here.

Partners in Eco & Adventure Tourism
PEAT is an association of tourism operators in northeastern Ontario who share the goal of providing high quality eco/adventure tourism experiences, every season.
