Here for outdoor adventure or fun on snow? A museum crawl or local festival? We welcome families, groups of friends, honeymooners, school groups, and even canine companions.

Smoothwater has five private rooms and two bunkhouses tucked into a hill, motel style, at the forest edge. A walk-around balcony offers views of the gardens, canoes, and James lake. Hike, cross country ski and paddle, right from your bedroom door.

Meals
Our acclaimed regional cuisine is served in the main lodge, a short walk away from your room. Smell the roses, admire the butterflies, or catch a falling star.

Private Rooms
Expect rich colour schemes, original art, handmade quilts, Belle Vallee blankets, wool duvets, antiques and rustic twig furniture. A private bathroom completes each room.
Bear Den: turquoise blue, double bed, sleeps two.
Raven’s Roost: yellow, two iron beds, sleeps two.
Heron’s Nest: red, double bed and bunk, sleeps four.
Otter House: green, double bunk, sleeps four, kitchenette.
Wolf Den: purple, double bed and single bunk, sleeps three, sitchenette. Dogs are welcome in this room, complete with doggie bed and bowls.

The Bunkhouses
Our bunkhouse accommodations are heated and modern, with ensuite hot showers and toilets --perfect for school groups, girlfriend pyjama parties, or travelers on a budget. Bring your own sleeping and towels. Or rent from us.
Men’s bunkhouse: five bunkbeds, sleeps ten, ensuite washroom.
Women’s bunkhouse: five bunkbeds, sleeps ten, ensuite washroom.
Rate $30 night.

Pitch a Tent
Want to hear the loons laughing at night? Choose lakeside tent camping with use of washhouse amenities.
